Tuesday, we slept in late and got some laundry done. We drove to the Olympic Museum, it was built for the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. They dedicated the museum to both the olympic sports as well as all sports and fitness, and there is a play area in the lower level. Our teens were kicked out of this museum when they ran the wrong way on an escalator.
We then drove to the Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria which has operated since 1217. We stopped to have lunch and roam the market. They had all kinds of meat, fruit, fish, candy. It felt very touristy. The family got some individual time to shop. Then we met up with John, Eva’s 1st cousin, they had not seen one another in 27 years. With John, his wife and son Isaac we walked to the Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar built in 1840. The church is in gothic style and was featured in a book Ilana read. Inside a choir was singing and we sat to enjoy the music. We dined at a local pizza parlor with John and his family, then drove home late.
